Susan M. Dreydoppel, Center Director
Appointed Director in 2017, she has served at Hope Conference Center since 2011, first as Administrative Assistant and then as Assistant Administrator. She has a background in non-profit administration, museums and history, and was formerly the Executive Director of the Moravian Historical Society in Nazareth, PA. As a youth, she attended the Moravian camps Tar Hollow and Chetek, and served on staff of Chetek and Inmormindo. Her vision for “Camp Hope” is to blend traditional and updated camp settings and activities, and to make camp available to as many people as possible. She is a member of Schoeneck Moravian Church in Nazareth, PA.
Harry Howard, Camp Caretaker
Harry is responsible for all the buildings, grounds, and facilities in camp. He has a background in construction, excavation and grounds-keeping, but he most recently worked in the hospitality industry, and he brings all those skills and points of view to benefit Camp Hope. He and his wife, Cheryl, also serve as hosts for weekend rental groups. They were members of the former Canadensis Moravian Church in Canadensis, PA.
Charlie McDonald, Administrative Assistant
Charlie became Administrative Assistant during the summer of 2018, while also a member of the summer staff serving as the camp store clerk. He is a Moravian MDiv student at Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, PA and attends at Edgeboro Moravian Church. Charlie is a recent alumni of Moravian College (class of 2017), and is originally from Acton, Maine.
Board of Management
The Hope Board of Management consists of ten members. Four are elected to four-year terms at each Eastern District Synod, and four are appointed by the other board members to four-year terms which begin midway between each Synod. Each elected or appointed board member can serve up to three terms. The remaining two positions are ex officio for the Center Director and a representative of the Eastern District Executive Board (EDEB).
Shawn Billiard, Chair
A lifelong camper at “Camp Hope,” Shawn was first elected to the board in 2012 and re-elected in 2016. He has been board chair since September, 2016, and serves on the Hospitality and Development committees. He is an architect by profession. He and his family are members of Egg Harbor City Moravian Church in New Jersey.

John A. Egerton
John brings experience as a contractor to the board, and has headed numerous projects around camp as a member of the Facilities and Maintenance committee. He is a founding member of NEMDR (NorthEast Moravian Disaster Response), and is a leader of their annual Mission Weekend at camp. A member of Advent Moravian Church in Bethlehem, PA, he was elected to the board in 2016.
Rev. Jodie Harney, Vice Chair
A camp dean and counselor for many years, and a summer staff member when she was in college and Seminary, Pastor Jodie also serves as the leader of the annual Moravian Girls’ Retreat. She was appointed to the camp board in 2017 to fill an unexpired elected term, and currently serves on the Development and Programming committees. She is Pastor of Mountainview Moravian Church in Hellertown, PA.
Tammy Lavoy, EDEB Representative, Board Secretary
Tammy was appointed in 2016. She is a 5th grade teacher for Wallenpaupack School District in northern Pennsylvania, and is choir director and organist for Newfoundland Moravian Church, where she is a member. She serves on the Development committee.
Michael A. Rampulla
Mike served as Dean of Pre-Primary Conference for over a decade when his children were younger. He is a former firefighter and now works in Emergency Management. He serves on the board of directors of NEMDR, and on the camp’s Facilities and Maintenance committee. He was appointed in 2017 to fill an unexpired elected term on the board. He is a member of Schoeneck Moravian Church in Nazareth, PA.
Tory is a newly appointed member of the board, joining in June of 2018. He has been a Counselor at camp since 2016, and was the dean of Swim Camp for the summer of 2018. Tory loves traveling on Mission trips, and he was one of the ambassadors for the Northern Province of the Unity Heritage Tour that took place in summer of 2018. Tory is a member of John Hus Moravian in Staten Island, New York.
Recently appointed to the board, Chelsey has served as one of the deans of Senior High Conference since 2017.
Barry Doney, Treasurer (not a member of board)
Barry brings his experience as a corporate finance manager to the camp’s board. The board treasurer need not be a full member of the board, and Barry is happy to review reports and comment on financial matters without having to attend meetings.
